Gatlinburg’s 7th Annual Ribfest & Wings festival on Thursday, April 17, from 4 to 8 p.m. located on River Road near Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies Plaza and River Terrace Resort and Convention Center. There will be live entertainment, children’s activities and awards will be presented to the best ribs or wings in six categories.
To enter your recipe as a vendor and compete for awards in categories including restaurant, lodging, attraction, retail, financial institution, public safety and civic organization, call the Office of Special Events at 436-0506. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Gatlinburg Lodging & Hotel Association’s educational scholarship fund.
Another upcoming event in Gatlinburg is the 58th Annual Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage. From April 23 to 27, everyone from the serious botanist to the casual gardener can experience unprecedented access to some of the nation’s leading botanical experts as well as Appalachian wildlife authorities. The Wildflower Pilgrimage offers over 150 programs including an array of instructional walks and guided hiking tours tailored to meet individual walking skill ability, along with demonstrations and guest lecturers.
